THE FUGITIVE

The rapid rise in human population and the corresponding demand for resources have had a dramatic impact on the natural world. While global warming, acid rain, and holes in the ozone layer affect the whole planet, other changes, such as habitat destruction and hunting, threaten individual species. Over millions of years, many species have adapted to natural changes, such as long-term variation in climate. However, it is more difficult to living things to adapt to the harmful materials released into the environment as a result of human activities.

Wild plants and animals live in a particular set of surroundings, called their habitat. Nowadays people are in a hurry to change habitats to suit their own needs - to create farmlands or build cities, for example. The way people live threatens the delicate balance between living things and their habitats.

A quarter of all the plants in the world are known to be in a danger or threatened with extinction.

The world has over nine million square km. of forests. This is a lot of trees and also a lot of different species of trees. But they are disappearing fast. Every day we use paper and cardboard, both made from wood. We use different kinds of wood in furniture and in other ways. Every year over 100000 sq. km. of forests are cleared for different uses, and a lot of forests are so badly damaged that they will hardly be able to recover. If we go on like this, by the time you are as old as your grandparents are now all the forests on earth can be destroyed. This includes rainforests in South America, Africa and Asia. The huge forests help to control the world's weather, and to produce much of the oxygen in the air. There are many illnesses which we still cannot cure. There are old ones like cancer and new ones like AIDS. It may be that the medicines we need will be discovered in wild plants in savannas, deserts or rainforests. If we destroy these places, we will never find the cure.

A lot of endangered species - fish, reptiles, insects, birds, mammals - are disappearing fast. By the year 2030, scientists report that 25% of all animals, birds and insects may be extinct. The reason is Man that kills animals and destroys their habitats.

its true the rain forrests are being destroyed at an alarming rate of speed every day . these forrest contain many many species of animals or living creatures some that as yet man may not even seen .

remember there are tribes living in the rain forrest that have never seen the modern world , they live as they did 1000s of years ago . i saw a photo a few years back in the paper of orange painted tribes people SEEN FOR THE FIRST TIME as a hellicopter flew nearby . they clearly did not know what the flying beast was and were naturally scared and they used the only weapons they had which were spear and bow and arrow and they aimed at the metal beast in the sky . can you imagine how they must have felt ? how scared they must have been .

so not only are creatures losing their homes or being wiped out , but tribes and their way of life are also threatened . these people speak ancient languages they have no understanding about modern man or modern times , they still live in ancient times . one by one the destroyers of these forrests will turn up at some point and these tribes will be there . so what are they going to say ? SORRY MATE WE ARE KNOCKING THIS WHOLE AREA SO GET THE FOOK OUT ?. the tribes wont understand .

as fug says its long been said that the plants of the rain forrests could contain natural cures for every illness known to man , THEY ARE DESTROYING THESE PLANTS . but then they dont want plants that can cure cancer or aids or other illnesses , why ? because we all know that the money is in the drugs that are used to treat NOT CURE . if they treat people for 20 years they get a lot of money , if they cure you the money stops RIGHT ? . thats why governments including the uk government and irish government are so against natural medicines .

i have writte a post before on the forum about a lady here whos little girl had some 50 or more serious fits everyday , she had little quality of life . herbal cannibas has medicinal qualities that seriously help people with such a terrible illness .  the lady in question couldnt get this in ireland because its deemed illegal even tho its legal in most of europe . she begged and pleaded with government to no avail , her poor little daughter continued to suffer greatly everyday . this lady said fook them ill go to europe and buy some and treat my daughter , the government had her arrested . now i am going the long way around the houses here , but my point being that this is just one plant that can be used to make a natural medicine . by the way the woman had to leave ireland with her daughter and move abroad , the little girl now has her herbal cannabis medicine and for the first time in her short life is free of these fits and lives a normal happy childhood . its just a shame they had to sacrifice their home and move abroad because the small minded politicians wouldnt help .

so just imagine if even just 5% of plants in the rain forrest had similar medicinal properties ? imagine what they could cure ? . but mans greed for wealth will always override doing what is right .

they make a fuss over planting of NEW trees . its like DONT WORRY if we knock down one tree here we will replant 4 elsewhere . thats not how it works . these trees are thousands of years old , you cant replace a thousand year old tree with 4 babys and say they will do the same job , its a complete nonsense .

the rain forrest trees take all the nastiness ,and toxins out of the air and clean the air we breath every day . this is the reason they are called the lungs of the earth . we actually dont need wood to make paper , thats a fact . there is a relation to the cannabis plant (its not a drug) called hemp , and paper and even clothing can be made from it .and hemp can be legally grown in massive amounts and its safe , and it would mean that many less trees need to be cut down . but still trees are being cut down WHY ? . do we really need a fancy oak or teak table and chairs ? , is it really worth destroying a forrest for ? , destroy the rain forrest so you can have a nice wooden floor to walk on or a nice coffee table etc ? , no its not worth it . it reminds of idiots buying little elephant ornaments made from ivory that the elephant was killed for . yes lets have a little ivory elephant on the mantle piece , whats better to have that OR TO HAVE THE REAL THING ? . the way man is going our great grandchildren will be taught in school about the wonderful creatures we had on earth that MAN HAS MADE EXTINCT .

and they will add to that by telling the kids WE USED TO HAVE THESE FANTASTIC THINGS CALLED RAIN FORRESTS , BUT ALAS THEY ARE ALL GONE NOW .
let justice be done tho the heavens fall
